Sasha Martin is an author and interdisciplinary poet creating a folklore of resilience and belonging. Drawing on childhood experiences of foster care, homelessness, and food insecurity, her work examines how broader systems impact identity and self-perception. Her National Geographic memoir, Life from Scratch, was translated internationally and featured on NPR, among others. Through erasure and mixed-media interventions on archival and discarded texts, her current practice reveals the personal within cultural and institutional narratives. She serves on Gilcrease Museum's Community Advisory Council and Zarrow Award Committee.
