Misha Bok Chukfi Ahilha (Beyond Dancing Rabbit Creek) is a studio album and cultural revitalization project centered on contemporary Choctaw music and language. Drawing on eight years of Choctaw language study, the project will combine original songs, reimagined archival social dance songs, and new songs for cultural gatherings. The work will be guided by Choctaw language bearers, elders, and communities in Oklahoma to ensure linguistic and cultural authenticity. Through music and documentary, the project aims to celebrate Choctaw life, encourage language use among younger generations, preserve cultural knowledge, and provide a model for Indigenous artists integrating ancestral languages into contemporary creative work.
