DR. TAMECCA ROGERS

ARTIST BIO

Dr. Tamecca Rogers is an award-winning filmmaker, author, publisher, and columnist. She most recently wrote and published Who Said You Can Touch My Hair?, a children’s book that encourages conversations about boundaries between cultures. She recently completed CROWN, a documentary seeking to stop race-based hair discrimination and encourage lawmakers in Oklahoma to pass the CROWN Act. 

Dr. Rogers serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Tulsa Tech and volunteers to further DEI education in Oklahoma. Her work empowers women and helps adults approach complex topics and issues with children such as race, inclusion, identity, and self-love.

PROJECT INFO

Dr. Rogers completed and premiered a pilot episode of Ameka and Her Magical Crown, an animated cartoon series. This series, featuring catchy, fun music, promotes inclusion and respect for people’s differences and encourages children to love themselves and others just the way they are.
