Marx Cassity is a Two-Spirit, critically acclaimed songwriter, performer, spiritual practitioner, and therapist specializing in 2SLGBTQ+ resilience. Born in Ponca City, they are an enrolled Osage citizen with Kaw, Saponi, Susquehannock, and European heritage. Throughout their thirty-year career, Marx has woven together music and spirituality as both a path of personal healing and a means to uplift others. Shaped by their time living in places like Boulder, the Bay Area, and Portland, and after their spiritual study in India and Brazil, they recently returned home to Oklahoma. Marx delivers folk-rock songs that speak to overcoming hardship by connecting to nature, humor, love, compassion, and heritage.

The music video for Marx's Native American Music Award-nominated song “Somewhere” is about finding resilience in dark times through dance, nature, heritage, and spirituality. The video, which features Tulsa vogue dancers and 2SLGBTQ+ community members, includes scenes filmed at Tulsa’s Chimera Cafe and on Marx’ great-grandmother’s land on the Osage reservation. The premiere event will bring the video’s themes to life through live performance and audience participation.
